J.D. Kious was born on December 31, 1979, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He received his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina and his law degree from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama.

J.D. was admitted to the Tennessee Bar in 2005. His areas of practice include real estate, contracts, wills and estates, and corporate law.

J.D. is a member of both the Rutherford County and Tennessee Bar Associations.
